Windowsweepers

The be honest, in those days, I don't think that they ever did very 
much, even when new. They did keep the windows from rattling when in 
the down position, but that was about it.

Cars of today really SWEEP the windows! This works mainly for dew that 
has formed during the night.

On my old cars, placing a small amount of pressure with my hand against 
the window from the inside, while it is being lowered or raised may 
make it close enough to have an effect. I've done it and it doesn't 
work very well. Most of my cars are garaged, so this feature hasn't 
played a significant role in my life for quite sometime.

Yep, they do look too short -and often don't touch the glass!  I've 
wondered about that myself.
